Hi, we are Maury and Louise Dawson, we have been married since September 1984, yes, we are very young. We have 2 grown children.

Our entire lives, both Louise and I have been self-employed business owners. I started and built several real estate and financial services companies. Louise as controller and accounting.

But as we became more successful in our traditional business we realized that we were spending our entire lives working and not living. The long hours, the “never satisfied” customers, the 7 days a week with little to no time off. The list goes on and on.

We finally realized that although we were entrepreneurs and building what we thought was our American Dream, we were no different than a slave to a boss. We were slaves to our business and customers and we needed to make some drastic changes.

Perhaps it’s a similar story for you?

This is very possible, seeing as it’s a story that many of us share. And it’s something that many of us will come to accept as normal.

After all, this is what we’re taught in school. In school we’re taught to get a job and that job will almost always entail working nine to five. And we’re taught that working harder, for the sake of working harder, is something that should be celebrated.

There are few better badges of honor than being called a ‘hard worker’.

But why should that be the case? Why are we being celebrated for spending all our time and energy on selling widgets rather than being with family and enjoying living? Enjoying life! Doing something creative.

The notion of retirement only makes this worse.

Louise and I wanted to fly against society’s rules – rules that dictated we work to 65 and then retire. We wanted to enjoy life now! We wanted to do things now. We’re willing to work hard but on our terms - terms that would allow us to earn a substantial income wherever we are in the world as long as we had an internet connection.

Basically, we want to do what we want, when we want and how we want, does this sound unrealistic? Not to us and thousands of others living this lifestyle it doesn’t.

With that in mind we set out to learn everything we could about creating a business we could run from anywhere in the world as long as we have internet or cell phone connectivity.

Once we figured out and learned the business systems and technology required, we had to decide what we wanted to do. We have always had an RV and love the freedom being able to have a home wherever we go, so we sold our house bought a larger 5th wheel and hit the road.

Did we have everything figured out? Simple answer, no. However, that didn’t stop us, our whole life we have had an attitude that we would figure it out as we go.
